The intention here is to create a space where I can start something fresh. A place to look at things that interest me and inspire me. Mostly, this blog will contain things related to fashion – reviews, advice, ideas, etc. So if you have something specific you want me to discuss, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know! I will try my best to fulfill your requests.

What inspired this blog in the first place? Well, I’m a little bit addicted to Pinterest, and most of my pins have slowly come to revolve around fashion (you can visit my Pinterest f a s h i o n i s t a board). I’ve come to realize that Pinterest fashion can be a bit hard to match up to, if you aren’t rollin’ in it! I am learning that you have to look for pins with pieces that you already own but never thought of putting together in an outfit. Outside of this, of course, there are the must-have pieces that you don’t already own that now you need to go out and buy. And this is where I’ll begin my first review…

The most recent must-have piece that I just absolutely needed to buy was a Triangl bikini. Now I have been looking at these suits for MONTHS (just ask my husband – I have been talking about them non-stop), and I really wanted to buy one but I was just so hesitant due to the fact that you have to order online without trying it on first. On top of that, you have to pay for the shipping (and in my case, duty & taxes… yikes!) and pray that the suit fits like a glove or else you’re paying to ship it back for an exchange! Nevertheless, after months of research, talking on the Live Chat on the Triangl website, and reading review after review, I decided to take the plunge. The suit I bought is the POPPY BLUE CRUSH for $89 US. My friend got one too, so we shipped together and split the $20 US flat rate shipping fee, making each suit $99 US (after Canadian exchange rate, it came to about $120 CDN.) Most of the reviews I read said that they didn’t get charged duty, so I was crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Of course, that didn’t work out so well and we had to pay another $80 CDN in duty & taxes upon arrival via FedEx. Well, at least it got to me within 2 business days of ordering!

The anticipated moment had arrived in a sleek black box, and I was so excited to get it out and try it on. I ordered a Small top and XSmall Bottoms as recommended by the Live Chat help on the website. I read on a lot of different reviews that you should order a size up in bottoms because they are neoprene material and a really snug fit. I went against what the reviews told me and stuck with what the Triangl rep told me. I usually wear a size 0 or 2 in pants (depending on the store), and an XS or S in underwear. Since size 0 is XXS and 2 is XS (according to the sizing chart), I decided to go with the XS as recommended. Now my friend that I ordered with got a Small bottom, and I slipped hers on for size, and they fit as well. I didn’t see a huge difference in the sizing, so if I ordered again I would probably go with the Small so they don’t hug me quite as much and give a bit more coverage. They are extremely low rise, but fairly full around the bum.

As for the top, I am almost always a 32C in bra size and I found this one really tricky to figure out. Because the sizing for the Poppy and Milly tops are different than bras in the sense that there is no adjustment on the back strap (only the shoulder straps), it was difficult to ensure I was ordering the right size. I was told by the Triangl rep that a size Small fits a 34B. My underbust is small, but my overbust is a bit larger. I thought I should go with the special “Small+” size, but because it is labelled as a “C-D” I wasn’t positive and thought it may be too big in the cup. The rep suggested that my best bet was the Small size in the top because it might “even out” between the B cup and the 34″ making for a more 32C sort of feel. Unfortunately, I’m popping out the top a bit more than i’d like (in spite of the fact that there is no padding in these babies! Just structured cups with underwire), and I think I should have got the Small+ size. In the end, I don’t want to pay more to send it back for an exchange so I am just going to suck it up and wear it anyway!

Although I was a bit disappointed by the slightly-off fit of the suit, I still LOVE the way it looks and feels. The material makes you feel secure, and although to the touch it feels like wetsuit material, it doesn’t feel thick or heavy when it is on! I am really excited to wear this – especially once I have more of a tan! Overall the fit will be fine and I am positive I will get tons of wear out of it this summer! And once I (and my husband) have gotten over the expense of this one, perhaps I will try another style out to review 😉 Thanks for reading, and feel free to comment or ask any questions – I am happy to try and help those of you ladies trying to order blindly!
