Although the weather doesn’t seem to agree, the stores are telling us that spring is on it’s way. At least in the form of fashion! These days when I’m shopping, I get this sense of sadness because I love all the spring trends that are popping up, but I can’t legitimately WEAR them yet! It is -10 degrees C here in Toronto today (insert dead emoji here) and I am bundled up in a parka. However, I did get the chance to head over to Guess last week – maybe you saw my stories on Instagram – and look through all of their gorgeous new spring items that just dropped in stores. And I left with a pretty spectacular outfit, I have to admit. And I couldn’t wait to wear it for this shoot, but sadly it is likely going to have to wait for a full day’s wear until it gets a little bit warmer outside!
I am always drawn to floral, and this blouse was no exception. A soft, airy material with a beautiful scooped hemline, this light pink blouse with an orchid floral pattern was made for me. Easy to wear tucked or untucked, it creates options for a more polished, professional style or a cute and flirty look. And for under $80, it’s an easy “yes” in my books!
I tried on several different pairs of denim, but ended up going with these Athletic Zip Jeggings (under $120) because they are so unique from the other pants I own. I love the wash – a grey/olive tone – and the small details of the zip pockets, stitching below the knee, and the zipper on the backs of the bottom hem. The crop of these pants is absolutely perfect, falling right above the ankle, which I LOVE for spring. These are also available in a beige/khaki which is super cute as well! Did I mention they’re extremely stretchy and comfortable? Cause they are!
Finally, the pièce de résistance: the Faux-Leather Lace Moto Jacket. When I saw this on the rack, I immediately fell in love. You may have noticed from the past that I love putting leather and lace together, however, I have never seen such a beautiful combination of the two materials in one piece! The lace covers the sleeves and the sides of the jacket, with lining (but no leather) underneath. It is definitely a spring jacket, as the lace allows air to come through the sides and sleeves a bit more than your typical leather jacket. The details on this piece are so beautiful – I know I will wear this jacket a TON this spring.
