First off, thank you for checking out my blog! It’s just starting up, but I’m really excited to get it going. Although in my first post I made it a point to say that this would be a fashion blog (which it will) I should also say there will likely be a lot more than just fashion appearing in these pages. Since there’s a lot more things in the world that I love, I will likely be diving into several different topics along the way! I hope you’ll stick around for the ride 🙂

Today’s post (as promised via Instagram – @thedelilahblog), I will be looking at 5 Pinterest-Inspired styles that are my current favs! I have come to realize after years of pinning that it is important to pin things that contain pieces of clothing I already own. This is a good way to ensure that I don’t go broke trying to build a Pinterest wardrobe! Although I do still pin my fair share of “wish” items, I do try to find things that I can use to create my own similar outfits with things that I already have in my closet. With that being said, here are my 5 Pinterest Picks!

OUTFIT #1: Cool Summer Comfort

I have no idea what brands she is wearing, but in my closet I already had ripped denim shorts from American Eagle Outfitters, black crew-neck sweater from the Gap, black & gold sequin shoulder-strap purse from Urban Outfitters, sunglasses from Aldo Accessories, and my well-loved classic Converse sneakers. Right after this picture was taken, I went out and walked my puppy downtown Toronto – comfortable, cute, but still fashionable!

OUTFIT #2: Girly & Chic

I loved that as soon as I saw this outfit on Pinterest, I already knew I could wear basically exactly what she was wearing! Chambray button up shirt from Dynamite, lace shorts from… I don’t even remember…, brown leather purse from Italy. It’s a brand-less outfit, but comes together so nicely! Chic, clean, and playfully girly! Perfect for a casual dinner with your girls, or a picnic in the park with your man!

OUTFIT #3: Dress Up, Dress Down

This one was a bit more tricky for what I already had in my closet… I loved her hat, but the one that I had that was similar is (as you can see) more of a floppy beach hat! For the sake of the picture, I put it on, but if I were going to wear this outfit out I would go sans hat. I love this outfit because you feel like you’re dressing up when wearing a cute form-fitting dress, but you throw on a denim jacket and converse and you’re dressing back down to comfort again! It’s a versatile outfit that you can wear nearly anywhere and feel in place! Denim jacket from H&M, dress from Dynamite, hat from Forever 21, and white Converse sneakers (I think from Browns!)

OUTFIT #4: Highlight that BRIGHT

I absolutely ADORE the outfit from Pinterest here… I wish I owned the exact items from the shirt to the shoes, but since I do not I thought I would at least try to go with the idea of brights with whites. Here I’m wearing a hot pink chiffon top from SmartSet, white jeans from Dynamite, mint heels from Spring, and dressing it all up with some sparkly gold jewellery! I’m not completely satisfied with this look, and I think I would have liked it better if I had used my lime green purse instead for more of a pop, but you get the idea!
OUTFIT #5: Late-Night Downtown Dinner

This photo didn’t really call for two shots of me, so I stuck with just the one 😉 Though this isn’t really a complete outfit, it gives you the general idea and then leaves you to your imagination for the upper half! I LOVE pairing distressed denim with stiletto heels. The contrast of old & new is a really big trend right now! The best part about this outfit? Those heels cost me $11 at Payless Shoe Source. Yup… Best. Deal. Ever. Jeans from H&M I believe…!
Well that’s it for this post, folks! I hope you enjoyed it and that it inspired you to do some Pinterest-ing of your own!
