Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a rest-filled weekend and are hitting Monday head on! I, for one, had an extremely busy weekend so I am hitting Monday tired. But I can’t complain because this mama-to-be is off work and enjoying her Monday on the couch with coffee in hand! 🙂

Last weekend I was thrown a beautiful baby shower in my hometown (you can see the details HERE if you missed the post!) and we were so blessed to receive so many amazing gifts for our baby boy. Today I want to share with you my pre-baby shower pampering session at Coco Beauty Bar here in Toronto which got me beautified for my lovely day.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I go to Coco for all my manicures and am always in love with the final product! The girls there do a fantastic job, and always pay so much attention to the small details so you leave happy with your service. On the week leading up to my shower, I decided I deserved a little more “mama-to-be pampering” and went in for a few hours to receive a shellac manicure, a spa pedicure, eyebrow threading, and a mini facial!

Owner of Coco Beauty Bar, Vesna

Lyuba was my esthetician for the day, and she treated me like a queen! We started the experience off with the eyebrow threading (sorry, no photos of this one!) and she was quick, efficient, and experienced. She listened to my description of shape and volume and ensured that she fulfilled exactly what I wanted. I have always been nervous about getting my eyebrows done (partially because I haven’t really gotten them done many times!) as I don’t want to end up with pencil-thin, or uneven brows at the hand of an inexperienced technician! However, Coco always does a great job and leaves my brows in perfect condition. And although I haven’t tried it yet, they also offer eyelash extensions, which I’ve heard nothing but good things about!

Next, we went over to the pedicure chairs where Lyuba multi-tasked and did my hands and feet somewhat simultaneously to save on a bit of time! While my feet soaked in the warm tub, she performed the beginning stages of my manicure (cut, file, and cuticles) and then went back to my do the same on my toes! Next she applied Gerlachs Gehwol Footcream to soothe my tired feet, and on top of that an organic purifying foot mask all over my feet and legs. This created a cool, tingling sensation which felt amazing. Since the mask needed to be left on for 15+ minutes, Lyuba went back to my hands and completed my shellac manicure before removing the foot mask (which, I might add, left my feet and legs feeling softer than a baby’s bottom!).

Once my toes were completed to compliment my manicure, we headed over to a private room to do my facial. For the majority of their facials, Coco uses AlumierMD products although they do offer a couple of other options as well. I opted for the AlumierMD Express Medi Facial with add-on Eye Rescue Treatment. Although my being 30 weeks pregnant left me slightly fidgety during the application (laying on my back is difficult these days!) I can honestly say that the facial left my face feeling bright, cleansed, and refreshed!

All in all, my experience at Coco did not disappoint – as per usual! Vesna (the owner) and her team are both lovely women to be around, and highly experienced at what they do. I would definitely recommend heading over to the salon to check them out. And if it is your first time there, be sure to mention promo code “THE DELILAH BLOG” when booking your appointment for 15% off your first service!

Sincerely,

Kristin xx
