Let’s be honest – not everyone’s Valentine’s Day is massive bouquets of red roses and decadent chocolates with a fancy shmancy steak & lobster dinner with their lover. There are many ways to do Valentine’s Day, which also means many different ways to style that perfect look. I have come up with 4 different V-Day scenarios and some appropriate looks to go with them. So whether you’re spending the evening at that fancy restaurant or having a lonely hearts party with a bunch of other singles – there’s something here for you!
1. The Fancy Romantic
If you’re like me and you love to get dressed up and go out for a nice sit-down dinner (and either don’t have a baby or have childcare, LOL) then this look is for you! I paired a favourite LBD with the colour of love – red! These gorgeous pumps and cross-body bag are from Nine West (P.S. they’re having a great sale on Vday items!) and I’m absolutely in love with them both!
2. The Netflix & Chill
Perhaps you’re a mama, a low-key single, or just plain don’t like going out for Valentine’s Day. Who said you can’t still look cute while hanging at home? I love this oversized lace-up sweater for around the house with a pair of leggings. So turn on that Netflix, grab a pizza, and hunker down!
3. The Girls Night Out
No boyfriend? No worries! Grab your girls and hit the town on Valentine’s Day. I went for a sassy, “who cares what day it is” look with this mocha bodysuit + black denim skirt combo (both from Tobi!). Obviously it’s still cold outside, so it’s the perfect time to pull out those OTK boots (mine are on mega sale right now!). For a little more edge, throw on a leather jacket and – *cue Shania Twain* – Let’s Go Girls!
4. The Feminine & Fun
Finally, maybe you like to go out and celebrate with your loved one but don’t plan to go anywhere super fancy, but still want to look cute! I found this leather skirt on sale and I think is a great piece to have in your wardrobe (similar mini version here). I paired it with my current favourite bodysuit (also on sale) and these chunky floral heels for that extra-feminine look! Top it off with a classic black handbag, and you’re set for an evening out with your Valentine.
Did I miss any “types” of Valentine’s Day-ers out there?! Let me know how you’re celebrating the day of love this year! I have a feeling we’ll be doing the Netflix & Chill… 🙂
